Sukkot Worship Services, Events in October

Potluck Dinner/Sukkot Evening Service on Wednesday, October 3, 5:30 p.m.

Please join us for our Sukkot Celebration on Wednesday, October 3.  We will begin with a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by a worship service at 6:30 p.m.

Evening Service on Friday, October 15, 7:30 p.m.

Please join Beth El for this Friday’s service during the week of Sukkot, when Andy Eyck will deliver a sermon on the topic of Sukkot and Sanctuary.  Come to hear a take on Sukkot that is more relevant to these modern times.  Andy’s talk is part of the Social Action Committee’s continued exploration of Immigration Justice and what we as Reform Jews are obligated to do to assist newcomers and welcome the stranger.  

Bangor Multifaith Dinner on Monday, October 9, 5:00 p.m.

Please join the greater community for the Bangor Multi-Faith Dinner to be held on Monday, October 9, at 5:00 p.m. at Bangor High School.  Tickets are free, but are needed for admittance.  Congregation Beth El has been involved in its planning from the get-go, and we hope many of our congregants will participate in this outreach event.  Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available.  If you are interested in attending and/or helping, please contact Gerry Gross atgross.geraldine@gmail.com or 944-3245, or approach her this Wednesday or Fridayat services.  Volunteers are needed to facilitate table discussions, and to help with food preparation, set up, and clean up.  Come break bread with your neighbors!

Sunrise Service on Cadillac Mountain, Saturday, October 14, 6:30 a.m.
